While we do have free wi fi here in the hospital, it’s not the greatest.  in fact it’s QUITE flakey.  We can get to some sites, but not others. We can reach the baby blog, but not LiveJournal for some reason.  I figure it’s filtered or something, and it’s probably all the fanfic people who got it banned.  Heh.  So if you’re wondering why we haven’t updated LJ about all the big news, it’s because we can’t reach the site.

Any way, just a quick update, we’re going to be going home from the hospital tomorrow likely.  We could have been discharged today, but they wanted to keep an eye on her stitches and pain levels for one more day.

Hiro had a bit of a fever tonight, which caused some stress but things seem to be ok.  It was probably one of his vaccinations that caused it.  In ruling out some issues they needed to draw a little blood, and they kind of botched which made for some upset parents and grandparents.  We finally got a competent person do take it and he didn’t even cry (she was good).  The results showed no problems so we’re all feeling better. 

I got a more comfortable chair to sleep in tonight, so that’s a plus, and I got a little sleep at some point.  She beginning to master some of the mysteries of motherhood, and we’re starting to figure some things out.  I know the next few weeks are going to be rough, while we try to operate on little sleep, and no real idea what the heck we are doing.  But it certainly will be nice to get home to our own bed (beds? yes, he gets a little bassinet to sleep in that rocks back forth, so that should be nice.)

Some random factiods.

Baby was 20.5″ inches long. 

Baby’s first game was Mystery Case File – Madame Fate. (Bethany was playing it while he was there, so it counts.)

Her labor was 12 or more hours long, we’re not sure where we stared counting the hours, but it was definitely over 12.

He was delivered by emergency C section, and I’ll get the fulls story written up soon for those that haven’t seen us in person.

HIs “apgar” score was 9/9 which was very good. 

The nurses commented on a funny things I remembered.  “He’s got a lot of hair!  But not as much as his dad does.”  That one stuck in my head.

He passed his hearing test.

Ok, we’re all falling asleep, time to catch a little sleep before he decides he’s hungry or something.

We’re here and in progress.  She’s trying to sleep now before the big push. I might even lay down for a bit, the nurses say we’ve got a little while to go yet.

She’s comfortable now, and hardly any pain.  Things are looking good.

We went to the doctor early this morning and did a few checks.  He decided it was time to send up to the hill, where we started the very beginning stages of inducement.  We had time to grab some lunch, and gather up our nerve.  We arrived at Swedish at around 1ish, where we did some tests, and got started with the most basic steps of inducement.  Encouraged by what they saw, the doc decided it was a good time to just go for it. 

So, we did.  We’re under good hands here, and every one is treating her very well.  Anyway, that’s what I got.  Obviously, they have wi-fi here in the room, I freaking love this city.  It really is nerdvana here.  No schedule, but I’ll try and keep everyone posted.  It’s been a long day though, and she’s mostly asleep now. I’m going to fidget around a bit, and then maybe try to nap.  No idea if I can, I’m all kinds of wound up. Go figure.
