Crawling!

Ok, just a quick post to say that Hiro just CRAWLED!  Sort of, it was kind of pushing with legs and sliding on his face on the bed, but he was making forward motion that was not rolling sideways.  It was definitely crawling, or pre-crawling or whatever, but it was more than he’s done before.  It was pretty amazing to watch him.  He was motivating towards Momma, and doing it willfully and forward motion with his legs.

Pretty awesome stuff.

Because we have the great convertible carseat at home, this is Hiro’s first experience in a highchair! Oh, and did we mention we’re in Hawaii?

Fathers Day

Woot. My first one ever.

Back at home though, Hiro gave me an awesome present.  He nearly crawled.  We had him on the floor, and I was sitting away from him a little and holding a toy he likes.  He rolled around a bit, got ahold of the couch with his feet, and pushed against it to go forward. He’s got the elements of crawling there, you can see it, he’s moving arms and feet, and trying to motivate towards something.  It’s so close, you can see it.  He also is very very close to sitting up on his own.  The picture in the blog is him sitting up, he can do it for short bursts. and you can see him correcting a little, trying to stay balanced.  Sometimes it works, sometimes he falls over. :) He will balance for a while, until he gets whatever it was he was going for into his mouth, and then he forgets he’s balancing and starts chewing on the toy, and over he goes.

It’s pretty cool to watch him go through these learning points, you can see it happening for the first time, which is neat!
